DHC-3 Otter
In the early beginning known as King Beaver, as the development was meant to be a larger version of already famous DHC-2 Beaver. The Otter is a large single engine utility aircraft with excellent STOL qualities.
This model is an extensive rework of the old v566 by Tim Hill and myself.
So far I’m offering the following files:
- The standard factory Otter with the Pratt & Whitney R-1340 600 HP radial.
- A conversion known as ‘Polish Otter’, now powered by a PZL Kalisz radial of 1000 HP (in fact the same engine as the Shvetsov ASh-62IR of the Antonov An-2).
Plane packages include alternative acf files for the landplane and floatplane version (standard wheels and amphibious floats).
The Otter floatplane ‘classic’ comes with the original black panel (dash) of the early production Otters.

DHC-6 Twin Otter
One of my favorites. I've always kept at least one up and running for my own use since early in v470.
As the name suggests it was at first conceived as a twin-engined replacement for the venerable DHC-3 Otter.
The Twin Otter is a 19-seat (passengers) STOL utility aircraft, mostly used for regional passenger and cargo transport, medevac flights or whatever else you can think of. The reliability of its two P&W Canada turboprops and its superb STOL qualities have it operating in the most remote areas; from Nunavut to Antarctica and from Iceland to Papua Niugini.

Twin Otter 3D v1141

Also thank you to G.P. Lyons ‘gplv3’ for the initial conversion of these files for use in X-Plane and his further enhancement and additions to the 3D objects.

The 3Dv2.6 model (unchanged from march 2022) Includes minor repairs over the earlier v2.5 model: Repaired missing window for some versions. Adjustment to taxi light position. XP12-ready glass objects (rain effect only, for testing).
Paint files remain unchanged - the v2.3 and newer still fit this update (except the new glass png’s).
The 2Dv3.1 revision -the PlaneMaker only side- NEW from january 2024. Revised for v1141 only, this concerns mostly engine settings and adjustments for XP11.

There are separate downloads for the different X-Plane versions.
You can download ‘ready-to-fly’ packages (complete models) for a number of variations (landplanes, floatplanes etc.)
Or you can download the complete set of all variations to Build Your Twotter, the BYT packages (this requires a basic kwonledge of X-plane files and directories handling).
You can also find a number of ‘universal’ files (mostly livery packs).

The lightweight alternative for less capable PC’s, having only a 2D-cockpit and minimal use of 3D objects (smaller external parts)... but including photo based 360º interior views.

As per 10 march 2024, the v1209QF is adding the following to the previous 1208QF version:
-Wiper effects (rain), by Joerg Schambacher -Minor adjustments to pilot point of view and floating po-up panel -Older propdisks.obj replaced by use of default xp setup with AF Navarro’s 3D prop_disk.png.
