A guide to my use of Paolo's Fiesler Fi.156 Storch for xp 9.43 v4 (up until 18/2/2010 or later, while Paolo is still working on his v5 set) Step 1 Download Paolo's originals (v4) from http://www.ilmioatelier.com/Fieseler%20Fi.156-C2%20Storch.html all 3 versions: Fieseler_Fi.156_Storch_9.43_C_1.zip - being his Fi156C-1 model (flat canopy, unarmed, tail wheel) Fieseler_Fi.156_Storch_9.43v4.zip - being his Fi156C-2 model (raised canopy, armed, tail skid) Fieseler_Fi.156_Storch_9.43_GB.zip - being his Fi156C-3 model (raised canopy, unarmed, tail wheel) Step 2 setting up folders/packages for the different versions. Take the expanded folder of the models mentioned above; rename them if you like to something more meaningful/simple like "Fieseler_Fi.156C-1_Storch", "...C-2..." and "...C-3..." You might want to make 3 additional copies of the "C-3" one if you like to test all 4 sub-versions of that model, though. Step 3 Redistributing object files (mainly for use of my textures/liveries). I do prefer to use the tail wheel version of the Storch, for which I take the 'alicar.obj' of Paolo's "Fieseler_Fi.156_Storch_9.43_GB.zip". See the supplied "objects" folder and copy (add/replace) "alicar.obj" from the "alicar_all" folder into the "objects" folder of the different versions from step 2. Next copy (add/replace) the "cappofuso.obj" of the specific version to corresponding version folder from step 2. There are 3 different sub-versions for the C-3 model: armed and unarmed (with or without the machine gun fitted to the raised canopy) and for both of them one with engine covers closed or one with the engine covers removed. The later mode/configuration being used often in warm weather; be that in the North African desert or during summer on the Eastern Front. Step 4 Add the new acf file, when needed. I'm only supplying a new acf file for the C-3 versions. This is just a minor change in engine output and weight as to reflect the C-3's change to the Argus As10P (270 hp instead of the 240 hp of the earlier As10C-3). Step 5 Adding liveries to the different models. I'm supplying one folder for each model (C-1, 2 and 3) and these include also the liveries from the original packages; different liveries by Paolo Matricardi, David Plunkett (smellybeard), Will Davies (amerrir) and myself (pedrovl), so you may delete the old 'liveries' folders from the new folders/models made under step 2 Also added a few new liveries from my production. I have redistributed some of the originals to versions I think they should fit best: Spanish AF by smelly beard to C-1 version; as far as I know all spanish Storches were earlier models, left behind by the Condor Legion after the spanish civil war ended in 1939. Luftwaffe 5F+XK (desert cammo) by Paolo to C-3 version, as I think it would most probably have been a C-3/Trop model (the version for use in the desert). As far as I can see there is only one livery from the original ones that has a (minor) glitch when used this way (with the redistributed objects); smellybeard's Swiss AF 1944 having a small color discrepancy for the tail slats. Important Acf file and obj files remain copyrighted to Paolo Matricardi, as per original license. Png files for the different liveries are, when applicable, copyrighted to the original authors (Paolo Matricardi, David Plunkett, Will Davies and Pedro van Leeuwen) Have fun! Pedro
